Who else counts their pets as one of their children? Our dogs are considered a valuable member of the family and it is so important that we capture memories of our little pups as much as we can! You are always welcome to bring along your sweet doggie (or two) when you have your next family session with Katie Redmon Photography! Check out my top tips for taking your next family photos with a dog (or two!) below!
1. Bring along an extra set of hands to hold on to your pet when we capture photos without sweet Fido!
We love your dog and want to showcase him as much as possible, but for the images that focus more on you and your human babies, it helps to have someone else keep your doggie safe on a leash so we can capture this variety with and without your pup!
2. Bring some water to your next family session with a dog!
In Northeast Georgia, it gets HOT in the summer! Just like your kids, your dog can easily get so excited roaming a new location during a photoshoot that he needs a little refreshment to keep him cool and collected during this fun time.
3. Bring a Toy
I always recommend bringing a toy or bribe for your toddlers to our session, so the same rule applies for your dog! If there is a specific treat or squeaky toy that gets his attention, please bring it along so that I can use it to help him focus on the camera and give us that adorable mug that we love so much!
If your pup is tame and well trained, it’s always okay to let her roam around with you at the session without a leash, but if your dog is anything like mine and behaves more like a bull in a china shop whenever she goes anywhere new, it may be easiest to capture fun memories with her on her own terrain. I’m always happy to bring the photo session to you and capture these memories in your own backyard (or even during your own newborn lifestyle session!)
