Imagine: You’re in your third trimester of pregnancy. You can’t see your swollen feet past your beach ball sized belly. You’ve bought every possible type of pacifier that the local Target stocks. You are shaking with the anticipation of meeting your newest bundle of joy in just a few short weeks. 

It’s at this beautiful final stage of pregnancy that jitters and nerves turn to true excitement and you start to make plans for those beautiful first few days at home with your bundle of joy. A special experience that many don’t want to miss is getting precious pictures of their little ones at this newborn stage. Here at Katie Redmon Photography, we offer newborn lifestyle sessions to help make cherished memories for our littlest subjects across the northeast Georgia region, from Braselton to Duluth and beyond.

What’s a newborn lifestyle session?

Lifestyle newborn sessions are exactly what they sound like- photo sessions that focus on the life of the family. They focus on parents as they beam at their bundle of joy and siblings as they learn how to hold their little brother in their arms. These sessions capture the little details in the sweet baby toes or the large bow placed carefully on the baby’s head. 

These 1.5 hour sessions focus specifically on the relationship between the family and the love between them, while also capturing the special touches in the nursery or other meaningful mementos of the little one. These sessions typically take place within three weeks of baby being born so that we won’t miss a single detail of them at this earliest stage. During these sessions, we avoid placing in baby in potentially dangerous and uncomfortable poses that a little one would not naturally be in. Babies are not wrapped with their knees to their chest in these awkward poses, but instead, the baby is held by mom, gently swaddled in their crib, or laying comfortably on a blanket. These sessions allow us to remember the sweet little one as he is without the complications that may arise from styled studio sessions.
